FAQ

Answers to Everyday Inquiries

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR A HOT YOGA CLASS?

Bring water! Be sure to hydrate before and after class

Wear clothes you can sweat and move in

Avoid eating 2 hours before class to maximize blood flow

Arrive early to allow time for check-in. Late entry will not be permitted.

Mats & towels are available for rent, otherwise you can bring your own!

WHAT IF I’M NOT FLEXIBLE?

You are in the right place! The heat will help open up your muscles so you can stretch safely and prevent injury.

THE CLASSES ARE TOO HOT. WHAT DO I DO?

You are not alone! Know that it can take 3-7 classes (or even more) for your body to acclimate to the heat. It is completely normal and okay to be a little overwhelmed during your first class! Be kind to yourself: listen to your body, rest when you need to, and try to stay in the room. The more you practice, the stronger you get.

WHEN SHOULD I NOT ATTEND YOGA CLASS?

With regular practice, traditional hot yoga can do wonders for your immune system. However, if you are sick or have a cold, flu-like symptoms, or fever, please stay home. Students with fever are not permitted in the hot room.

CAN I PRACTICE IF I AM PREGNANT?

If you are new to hot yoga, pregnancy may not be the best time to start a hot yoga practice. Heat and pregnancy don't always go hand-in-hand—unless your body is used to it with consistent practice (at least 6 months) and you have permission from your doctor. As with any exercise program, check with your physician and listen to your own body. You will be required to bring a release from your doctor in order to continue to practice in the hot room. Please notify our front desk & instructor as soon as you find out. Instructor will advise you about practicing yoga with modified postures while pregnant.
